Sam’s Superheroes Family Treasure Hunt

A Mickleover family treasure hunt helping to keep children physically active, mentally stimulated and learning about nature! Use your treasure map and solve the clues to help find painted stones hidden in the beautiful Mickleover Meadows, a local nature reserve. Mickleover Meadows is a hidden gem in the heart of Mickleover, home to a plethora of wildlife and boasts a conservation area packed full of history. It is also home of the fabulous BMX bike track.

Children will receive a small goody bag* at the end! Well behaved and friendly four-legged friends are very welcome to join us, and they will even receive their own doggy treat bag at the end too* sponsored by the awesome Chews Chester a local dog treats and bakery company! The walk is FREE, but DONATIONS to Sam’s Superheroes on the day are welcome.

Starting Location: Rykneld Sports Centre, Richmond Park Rd, Derby, DE22 4LP

Start time: 10am arrival for a 10.30am start time and 12noon finish 

Distance: Dependent on your chosen route round the Meadows 

Difficulty: Easy to moderate depending on the walking route you take around Mickleover Meadows and where the hidden stones are. Please note some stones will be hidden close to the pathways and others will be further away in grassed areas.  

Walk duration: Dependent on walking pace. The treasure hunt will close at 12noon
